How Blogs Optimize Your SEO Strategy

The Good, The Technical, and The Strategy

Let’s start by talking about ‘The Good’! Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is incredibly important to businesses looking to boost sales and leads. Blogs are one of the most effective ways of creating a consistent and strong SEO strategy. They promote your website organically ranking in search engines like Google. Why is this? Blogs build your credibility as a trusted source of information and have the capability to land you on the first page of Google for key topics. But this doesn’t happen overnight. Behind most blogs, you see online is strategy-driven research to make sure topics are relevant, timely, and are going to boost user engagement.

Read on to learn more about why your SEO marketing strategy needs blogs!

The Technical

Does the word algorithm give you war flashbacks to those dreaded math classes? When it comes to Google’s search algorithm, it is a lot less about math than it is about a focus on website optimization for keywords and timely, relevant content.

Indexing. Indexing is the process in which Google labels a site as “high-quality” and then adds it to their searchable index. The index is also known as the search results page that all us Googlers are very used to. Google uses bots to “crawl” or search web pages for the most updated information.

When you upload blogs consistently and focused on information people are actually searching for, Google crawlers will recognize this. This increases your website’s chance of ranking higher on the search engine results page. The higher you rank the better! This is because 75% of users never scroll past the first page of search results.

Google loves fresh and timely content, so your SEO strategy needs to focus on providing the algorithm and the people with what they want! When you do this, Google will start to acknowledge your domain as a credible and trusted source of information.

The Strategy

Okay, so now we understand how blogs help you rank higher in the SERPs, we need to talk about strategy. As we said before, behind almost every blog is a carefully constructed process that informs its topic and keywords. We know that you want to talk about what you want, but it is important to consider what information your audience wants to learn about and what they are researching. This is how they will find you.

User Engagement and Your Audience. Blogs are written to appeal to your audience and to promote user engagement on your website. The goal of your blogs should be to bring people to the website and keep them thirsting for more. Whether it’s for more information or to bring in sales or leads to your business, that’s up to you!

When writing your blogs you need to consider what your audience needs. What questions are they asking? What topics are they interested in? Does your business give them the answers or solutions they need? This is where the research comes in.

Did you know fact about blogs for seo optimization

Keywords. Your SEO marketing strategy should be focused on the keywords that people are looking for and what your business wants to rank for. For example, if you are an interior designer, you may want to talk about your personal design inspirations. However, if you do some keyword research, you may find that people are more interested in topics like trends of the season, or where they can find interior designers who offer specific services. In which case it would be good practice to write on those topics and on the keywords you want to rank for!

Matching these keywords with a powerful content strategy will get you the results you want! Want to learn more about content marketing, read our blog “The Power of Content”.

Analytics. Everything is driven by data these days, and written content is no exception. Once your blog goes live, analytics on user engagement and keyword ranks will further inform future topics and the rest of your SEO strategy! It’s a beast of a process, but so worth it in the end!
