Reimagined Experience

The Vernon Community Arts Centre (VCAC) is a vibrant, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing artistic education for all ages and skill levels. Offering a diverse range of mediums including pottery, printmaking, painting, drawing, glass arts, fibre arts, digital arts, and more, VCAC is a hub of creativity and learning.

Despite having so much to offer, the VCAC’s brand was outdated and no longer aligned with the diverse demographic they served. Additionally, they were highly motivated to shift how they served their clients to ensure that they were offering more streamlined digital options for managing memberships, processing renewals and booking classes and rental spaces. Our engagement with VCAC has helped support the revitalization of not only their brand but has contributed to the improvement of their website functionality and streamlined a number of administrative tasks within the organisation.

Challenge

When the VCAC board and management team decided it was time to make some changes to their brand, they turned to us for strategic support.

Secondly, the need for a new website that would support their diverse client and administrative needs was identified as a high priority.

Solution

Starting with the development of a new brand, our goal was to tap into VCAC’s creative and collaborative nature. To accomplish this, the strategy team developed a survey aimed at gathering members’ opinions on a new name, tagline, and overall branding direction. The survey was specifically designed to capture detailed insights into members’ preferences and aspirations for the future of VCAC.

The next step was a consultation between the web team and key VCAC staff members to understand the desired functionality and expectations for the new website. This involved creating a detailed site map and outlining an improved user experience that met expectations while aligning with the Centre’s budget.

Results

The survey results provided a solid foundation for the brand development process. We worked closely with the board to finalize a new tagline and logo, ensuring that the brand accurately reflected the collective vision of VCAC’s community. This approach not only embodies the inclusive and creative spirit of VCAC but also provides enhanced opportunities for community engagement and growth.

Following the brand creation, our team designed and developed a new website for VCAC. This new digital hub allows visitors to explore services, book classes, access resources, rent facilities, and purchase memberships, art supplies, and art products. The website’s design captures the welcoming energy that VCAC is renowned for, offering a fresh and engaging way for visitors to engage with the centre.

The collaboration between VCAC and our experts has resulted in a re-imagined brand and a new, dynamic online presence.
